Had a fantastic day today! I saw that new movie “My Week with Marylin” starring Michelle Williams and Eddie Redmayne with Sarah. Then came home and did some quality bonding with my mother, which basically means being on our computers while simultaneously watching Psych.
The movie was fantastic. I highly recommend it. It chronicles the making of one of her movies from the eyes of the third assistant director, Colin, who had a week-long affair with her during it. Michelle Williams is brilliant. I would be surprised if she doesn’t get an Oscar nod for the movie. She really captures Marylin’s vulnerability. Eddie Redmayne is really good too - especially good looking. Ugh. Gorgeous man. I’ve had my eye on him since he won the Tony for Best Supporting Actor in a Play for War Horse (which the movie adaptation is actually coming to theatres this season) earlier this year. Emma Watson is in it too - but has a fairly small role. She plays Colin’s (Eddie Redmayne) love interest until he falls for Marylin.
I’m obsessing. I’ll stop. Seeing films like this just really inspire me for some reason.
